Wizz Air has announced on Tuesday a new route between Bucharest and Santander, starting from the 23 of April 2019. The flights will be operated twice/week during the summer season, on Tuesdays and Saturdays. Romanians can already plan their trip to Santander as tickets are already available on wizzair.com with fares starting from 99 RON/19.99 EUR, one-way, including taxes and non-optional charges.

Santander is a popular destination at the Atlantic Ocean that offers opportunities for everyone. Those seeking to relax under the sun can enjoy the local beaches and bars while others in search of the area’s cultural heritage can visit the many museums and cathedrals representing the region’s rich history.

The Spanish city is the 9 destination Wizz Air offers from Bucharest to Spain, besides Barcelona, Alicante, Madrid, Castellón, Málaga, Valencia, Tenerife and Zaragoza. Santander, situated in the Calabrian region, will be the 45 destination from Bucharest and the 145 destination in the Wizz Air network.

“2018 was a great year with new aircraft allocation and 5 new routes for Wizz Air in Bucharest and we start 2019 with equally good news; a new route connecting Bucharest with Santander. This route will be the 9 route from the Romanian capital to Spain, a country with strong social and economic connections to Romania. Our newest route offers low-cost travel opportunities both for Romanians who travel to visit the large local community there and for tourists interested to discover the northern areas of Spain. We are confident that our Romanian customers will enjoy visiting this enchanting and warm city and region from as low as RON 99. Our friendly Romanian crew looks forward to welcoming passengers on board one of our aircraft!”, Tamara Vallois, Head of Corporate Communications at Wizz Air, said.

At the same, another low-cost airline operating in Romania, Rynair, has announced on Wednesday a new route from Bucharest to Tel Aviv, Israel. The new route will be operated as of April 2019, twice a week. The measure is part of Ryanair’s largest summer programme this year in Bucharest.
