Two Real Estate Players Acquire Majority Stake in Speedwell

Straco Real Estate and Baltisse have acquired a majority stake in the real estate developer Speedwell, a company that has real estate projects under development of around 1 billion euros in Romania.
Baltisse is a private Belgian private investment, asset management and real estate company, and Straco Straco Real Estate is a leading real estate developer and investment company specializing in commercial, residential and mixed-use properties in Europe.
“This transaction aligns with our strategic objectives of expanding our presence in the Eastern European market and underlines our confidence in the region’s long-term growth potential,” said Alex De Witte, CEO of Baltisse Real Estate.
Jan Demeyere and Didier Balcaen, the founders of the company, will coordinate the activity of Speedwell together with Baltisse and Straco Real Estate. The joint vision aims to develop the portfolio of projects on the Romanian market, simultaneously with the expansion of the company’s activity in Poland. With a professional team of more than 50 specialists in the field, the Speedwell portfolio includes 150,000 sq m of offices, 23,000 sq m of industrial spaces and over 6,000 residential units, as well as a wide range of services offered in mixed projects.
