U.S. unicorn start-up AirSlate enters the Romanian market

AirSlate, an American unicorn start-up for workflow automation, backed by, among others, UiPath, Silicon Valley Bank, General Catalyst and Morgan Stanley, opens a branch in Romania. AirSlate Romania will have an office in Timișoara, opened by AirSlate Ireland, according to the information published in the Official Gazette.

AirSlate is an IT startup founded in October 2018 by Ukrainian programmers Borya Shakhnovich (CEO) and Vadim Yasinovsky (Product Director, Harvard postdoctoral). The company, headquartered in Brookline, Massachusetts, has developed a no-code software automation (RPA) platform aimed primarily at small and medium-sized businesses. Its products, which range from electronic signature to workflow automation, have more than 100 million users worldwide.

With its last funding round of $51.5 million in June 2022, AirSlate was valued at more than $1 billion, achieving unicorn status, according to TechCrunch. To date, the startup has received more than $185 million in funding, some of which is debt, from investors including G Squared, UiPath, Silicon Valley Bank, General Catalyst, Morgan Stanley Expansion Capital and Horizon Capital. AirSlate is also a partner of UiPath since May 2022.
The company has more than 900 full-time employees and contractors in five global offices including Ukraine, Poland, the US and the Philippines.
