Collaborative robots (cobots) UR5 and UR10 will go to Estelio s.r.o. from Nitra, Slovakia and STAER INTERNATIONAL from Romania. In total, 856 projects from 8 countries registered for the second year of the competition, confirming the substantial interest of companies from Central and Eastern European region to automate and thus increase productivity. The participating companies could register their projects for the competition from the beginning of September until the end of October 2019.
First UR10 cobot will go to Romania, where it will help the company STAER INTERNATIONAL especially with the automation of production processes in the furniture industry. Specifically, it will perform screw driving, polishing, and pick & place tasks. Staer is mainly engaged in furniture production and has about 300 employees. The UR10 features a payload of up to ten kilograms and reach of up to 1300 millimeters, making it the ideal choice for more advanced tasks where it is necessary to overcome greater distances and carry heavy loads.
The second winner of the UR5 cobot is company Estelio s.r.o. from Nitra, Slovakia. Estelio is a dental company that is not afraid to apply innovative technologies into practice. UR5 cobot will help current employees with very precise cutting and marking the plastic foil in the production of the 3D printed invisible braces.
