The Service Revenue is at EURO 801 million. Organic service revenues compared to previous year is – 1.5%.

Vodafone Romania customer base reached 11.1 million at March 31st, 2021.

Murielle Lorilloux, CEO Vodafone Romania, stated: “The past financial year, which also coincided with the pandemic year, was like no other: unexpected challenges, opportunities to accelerate digitization, lessons to be learned, chances to prove network resilience and its critical role more than ever. I believe any of us wondered at least once during this year how we would have faced a similar pandemic context 20 years ago. And the honest answer we all know is that nothing would have worked smoothly unless the communications networks had fully supported everything we needed to do as a society, businesses and individuals. We would have felt an impact in our daily lives, from the way we would have spent our free time, up to a more unreliable access to educational online resources and good quality connections to be able to continue to work from home. Vodafone has once again reaffirmed its commitment for connecting the Romanian society, we have done tremendous efforts to connect hundreds of schools overnight, we were able in such a short time to deliver hundreds of thousands of tablets in order to ensure access to digital education to as many children as possible. We have proved our commitment to be a trusted partner for digitization for Romania’s various sectors, from education, to e-health, either public or private. And we haven’t stopped here, we went the extra mile and focused on the way we protect our Planet while we delivered best in class services. From enabling online education to our latest project, the first smart forest in Romania, we proved what the human spirit and technology can do for a better life.

And we want to continue. We want to be part of Romania’s successful story at a global level. So, at this crossroad we count on the central authorities to preserve the telecommunications infrastructure, which is a fantastic asset that Romania has had, and thoroughly assess, from all points of view, the impact of any decision they may take so that the industry will not be pushed 20 years in the past. However, the recent legislative initiatives in Romania may result in disruption of services for customers for years, create significant uncertainty and additional hundreds of millions of unexpected costs for the economy, while also affecting the capacity of companies to invest in future infrastructure. All these aspects will put the overall telecommunication industry backwards and will question the viability of further investments and the overall competitive environment in Romania”.
