Telecom operators in Romania will see their incomes grow on voice and data services in the upcoming 5 years, with returns reaching USD 4.2 billion, Euroweb Romania telecommunication player estimates.

Compared to last year, when total revenues mounted to about USD 3.7 billion, the new products and services launched by the telecom operators in Romania in the upcoming period will enable them to secure their customers portfolio, to prevent the prices’ erosion and to see a percentage increase of the revenues in the next 5 years.

The telecom operator thinks the growing number of smartphone users will lead to this data services lead.

According to the study, the biggest share, of over USD 3 billion will be shared by the mobile services in 2019, up by 15 percent compared to 2014 figures estimated for USD 2.6 billion.

The highest revenues will relate to broadband and cloud sectors but also to data-center products sales.

According to the forecast, the number of mobile subscribers will see a slight increase from 24.5 million in 2014 to 24.6 in 2019.
