The wholesale trade turnover (except for vehicles and motorcycles) as gross series grew by 11% in nominal terms in the first two months of 2019, against the similar period in 2018. The most significant advance was registered by the trade with agricultural products and live animals (+21.9%), the National Statistics Institute (INS) informs on Wednesday.
The trade with consumer goods, others than foodstuff, grew by 14.2% during January-February 2019, the trade with IT and Telecom equipment grew by 12.7%, with foodstuff, beverages and tobacco by 9.7%, with other products by 9.5%, the wholesale unspecialized trade by 9.2%, intermediation activities in wholesale trade by 6.6%. The wholesale trade with other equipment has remained at the same level.
As seasonally adjusted series, the trade turnover grew by 10.5% in nominal terms, due to the increase in wholesale trade with agricultural products and live animals (+26.7%), intermediation activities in wholesale (15.1%), wholesale trade with consumer goods, other than foodstuff (+13.6%), etc.
