Wholesale trade turnover (except trade of motor vehicles and motorcycles) increased by 2.6% (unadjusted series) and by 2.5% (adjusted series) in the first eight months of 2015, as compared to the same period in 2014, but fell significantly in August against the previous month, according to data released Tuesday by the National Statistics Institute (INS).
Thus, turnover in wholesale trade (except trade of motor vehicles and motorcycles) decreased in August against July 2015 by 5.2% (gross series) and by 4.9% as series adjusted by number of working days and seasonality.
Compared to the same period in 2014, the wholesale trade turnover has increased by 1.5% (gross series) and 0.6% as series adjusted by number of working days and seasonality.
Businesses services up by 9.2 pc in August 2015 against August 2014
The turnover of market services rendered mainly to enterprises increased in August by 9.2% compared with August last year, both as gross series and series adjusted by number of working days and seasonality, according to the INS.
The increase in turnover was due to rises in the activities of computer services and information technology, transport, communications activities, motion picture production activities, video, television programs, broadcasting of programs and other services provided to enterprises.
