Wizz Air announces two new routes from Romania to Saudi Arabia

Wizz Air has announced it will operate two new routes from Romania to Saudi Arabia from January 2023. Flights are now available from Bucharest “Henri Coanda” International Airport to Riyadh, the Saudi capital, and to the city of Jeddah. The new routes will offer Romanian travellers the opportunity to explore marvellous destinations in line with the airline’s ambition to provide tourists and residents of the Arabian Peninsula with affordable travel options. Seats for the new services are already available online on wizzair.com and through the mobile app from as low as 54.99 EUR / 269 RON*.

The new routes will majorly enhance Wizz Air’s presence in the Kingdom that will boost the growing Saudi Arabian tourism sector and contribute to the Vision 2030 programme to triple the country’s passenger traffic by 2030. Just alone this expansion will bring over one million additional travellers to Saudi Arabia next year.

From January 9th, 2023, Wizz Air will offer two weekly flights to the “King Khalid” International Airport, the main airport serving Riyadh. In the winter season of 2022-2023, flights to the Saudi capital will be operated on Mondays and Thursdays, and during the summer season of 2023, each Monday and Friday. Located in the middle of Saudi Arabia and surrounded by desert, Riyadh is a spectacular urban centre in the country, with a significant economical and cultural importance. With a history of centuries, Riyadh is one of the most exciting metropolises in the Middle East. The airport it is served by is also one of the largest in the world, in terms if ground area.

Flights to “King Abdulaziz” International Airport near Jeddah, located in Western Saudi Arabia, will operate twice a week from Bucharest, each Tuesday and Saturday, starting January 10th, 2023. Providing travellers with the opportunity to experience the beauty of the Red Sea, Jeddah is one of the major ports in the country. West of Mecca, the port city of Jeddah is an experience full of culture, tradition, and marvellous landmarks.

Wizz Air signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Ministry of Investment for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The MoU is a Ministry of Tourism initiative, aimed to enhance the development of the Saudi Tourism Sector.
