Hungary-based low cost Wizz Air opens a new destination from Iasi International Airport to Brussels, Charleroi, as of July 8th, a press release informs. Wizz Air has begun its operations at Iasi International Airport in 2013 and since then it has constantly invested in the growing network.
The second aircraft for the Iasi base will arrive in July and will provide flights on seven new routes from Iasi to Eindhoven (Netherlands), Dortmund (Germany), Thessaloniki (Greece), Billund (Denmark), Malmo (Sweden), Paris Beauvais (France) and Charleroi (Belgium).
With the operations expansion on this airport, Wizz Air will have a local crew consisting of 70 direct employees and new recruitment sessions will take place on March 3 in Iasi.
In 2018, the low-cost company puts up for sale more than 578,000 places on 15 routes to 11 countries, which means a 55 percent increase of Iasi’s total capacity from year to year.
