X-watch, the first Romanian smartwatch available from 2015

Domestic consumer’s appetite for devices and for all that is IT have a new challenge, a local challenge… Evolio launched the first Romanian smartwatch.

According to a press release, the watch will have a stylish design, with a thickness of 9.9 mm, 1.54 inch TFT display and resolution of 240×240 px, and will combine both classical features like time display and an triggering alarm, as well as innovative features such as protection theft of the smartphone. The X-watch will warn the user in case of theft or loss of the phone or tablet through a preinstalled applications based on Bluetooth 4.0 technology. The Evolio smartwatches allows the GPS locating of the phone or tablet’s position.

The device will monitor physical effort and fitness activities also. X-watch will be sold for RON 199 (EUR 45) and will become available in stores at the beginning of 2015.

“The Romanian bracelets and smartwatches market reaches some 10,000 units annually in an early stage. With the addition of more and more useful functions on these devices, such as antitheft and the location of the smartphone, the market starts to grow. In 2015, the local market of such devices could reach 50 000 units ” Liviu Nistoran, Evolio President, said.

The new Romanian smartwatch will be compatible with both the Android, and the iOS systems, and will allow to locate the connected phone or tablet via GPS.
