President Klaus Iohannis attended the inauguration of Theodora Golf Club – the most modern golf resort in Romania, on Saturday, in Alba County, after a private investment of EUR 15 million made by Ioan Popa, owner of Transavia.
“You have managed to make a unique investment in Romania. It’s unique from at least two points of view, ” Klaus Iohannis stated, conveying congratulations to those who invested “in a public facility that is not for profit.” He also appreciated the model of investing of the Romanian businessman Ioan Popa.
The head of the state added that Romania was thus put “on the world map”.
According to the Mayor of Alba Iulia Mircea Hava, the newly opened golf course at Teleac, Theodora Golf Club, could soon enter a tourist circuit.
Romanian businessman Ioan Popa, owner of Transavia, one of the biggest domestic poultry producers, opened Theodora Golf Club – the biggest golf resort in Romania, covering 62 ha.
Theodora Golf Club is built in Ciugud, a commune that has already become famous in Romania, after attracting the most European funds and has utilities in every village, bicycle tracks or paved roads even between agricultural parcels.
