CFR Cluj fails to qualify to the CL third qualifying round after 1-1 draw with Malmo FF

Romanian football champions CFR Cluj concluded in a draw 1-1 the match on Wednesday against Swedish team, Malmo FF, the in second Champions League qualifying round, failing thus to qualify to the next stage.

CFR Cluj led 1-0 in the first half, after the goal scored by Damjan Djokovic in the 36th minute, but the Swedish team equalised in the second half, Traustason, 55th minute.

In the first match, Malmo FF won 1-0.

Malmo FF will play in the CL third qualifying round against Vidi Szekesfehervar(Hungary) or Ludogorets Rasgrad (Bulgaria).

CFR Cluj will play in the third qualifying round of Europa League against Sutjeska Niksic (Montenegro) or Alashkert (Armenia).

CFR’s player Culio was sent off in the 76th minute.
