Coca-Cola HBC Romania, the largest company in the local beverage industry, inaugurates the most recent EUR 7 million investment: a high-speed production line for bottling in the Timisoara plant, with a maximum production capacity of 90,000 cans / hour.
Also, this new investment is the most energy-efficient line (410 kW / h) in the Timisoara plant and the line with the lowest water consumption per liter of beverage produced (1.1L).
The project started in November 2016, and the testing period was completed at end-May 2017.
“We have been on the Romanian market for over 25 years and our commitment here is very strong. (…) This investment is a new confirmation of our deep commitment to the local economy and local community. We are happy that our factory in Timisoara now has the fastest bottling line for beverages in Romania. We are also proud of our contribution to the local community. We are committed to investing further, Romania is a very important market within the Coca-Cola HBC Group, and we are very excited about what follows,” Jaak Mikkel, General Manager Coca-Cola HBC Romania said.
“Coca-Cola, one of the most relevant American brands, supports the creation of new jobs on the Romanian market and continues to support communities in which it operates through social responsibility programs,” U.S. ambassador in Bucharest, Hans Klemm, stated in turn.
The new bottling line is based on an innovative, state-of-the-art filling system, patented by Krones – the world’s market leader for beverage filling and packaging technology – and its operation is provided by four specialists on every turn, backed by experts from the other departments of the factory.
The Coca-Cola HBC factory in Timisoara was inaugurated on August 12, 1995. At that time, there were three production lines, all subsequently replaced by new and modern equipment.
