The meteorologists have issued on Sunday two warnings of Code Yellow for snowfall, expected to come into force as of 20.00h.
According to the information, as of 16.00h the precipitations will gradually extend from the western regions and will include most of the southern part of the country and the mountainous regions, will water quantities of 10-15 litres/square metre and of 30-35 l/sq m in Dobrogea (eastern Romania), hotneews.ro informs.
In Dobrogea rain will be prevalent until Monday, January 22, whereas in Banat (western Romania), southern Oltenia and southern and eastern Muntenia mixed precipitations will fall. In the other regions (south and south-eastern) snowfall will be registered on Monday which will lead to consistent snow layer.
Wind will reach speeds of 45-55 km/h and in the high mountains 60-70 km/h.
As of 20.00h on Sunday, the first Code Yellow for snowfall will come into force in the counties of Caras-Severin, Arges, Teleorman, Olt, Dolj, Valcea, and in the mountainous areas of the counties of Mehedinti, Gorj, Hunedoara, Sibiu, Alba, Brasov, Dambovita si Prahova. Significant snowfall will be registered until 11.00h on Monday.
As of Monday, 5.00h, the Code Yellow will extend to the counties of Galati, Vrancea, Buzau, Braila, Ialomita, Calarasi, Constanta and Tulcea for heavy snowfall and wind gusts of 65-75 km/h, blizzards and low visibility.
