The GDP increased in H1 2018 by 4% as gross series against H1 2017 and by 4.2% as seasonally adjusted series, the National Statistics Institute (INS) informs.
In Q2 2018 the GDP grew by 1.4% against the previous quarter. As compared to Q2 2017, the growth was of 4.1%, the signal figures revealed by the institute on Tuesday read.
The National Prognosis Commission (CNP) has cut the intermediary summer forecast for GDP growth to 5.5%, down from 6.1%. The average exchange rate of the national currency against the European currency is of RON 4.65. Economic analysts anticipate an economic growth of 4 to 4.6% in 2018, much lower than in 2017.
