SCM Craiova was defeated by Vipers Kristiansand (Norway) 26-22 (12-10) on Saturday, in the away match, the first round of the EHF Cup final of women’s handball.
SCM Craiova started the match in force, leading 2-1, 4-2, 5-4 but was equalised on the 20th minute at 6-6, failed to score from 7 metres and the hosts took the lead. Then Vipers led by 10-6 and the score at half time was 12-10.
In the second half, Vipers led all the time, mostly by four goals difference (15-11, 19-16, then 24-19, 25-20) with the final result of 26-22.
Cristina Florianu was the Romanian team’s best scorer with 9 goals. Other scorers: Ana Maria Ţicu 5 goals, Dana Andreea Pricopi 3, Jelena Trifunovic 2, Bobana Klikovac 2, Zeljka Nikolic 1.
For Vipers scored Jeanett Kristiansen – 9 goals, Linn Jorum Sulland 8, Kari Skaar Brattset 3, Pernille Wang Skaug 3, Karoline Olsen 1, Emilie Hegh Arntzen 1, Kristin Noersteboe 1.
The final’s return match will be played on May 11, at the Polyvalent Hall in Craiova.
