Eleven Romanian millionaires are unable to account for their wealth. The statement came from the head of the financial authority, who announced ANAF will carry out verifications in the cases of 4,600 rich businessmen with wealth of over EUR 25 million, Antena 3 TV reports.
The National Authority for Fiscal Administration (ANAF) will have seven new territorial branches along with the one based in Bucharest, which will carry on verifications.
In 2015, ANAF is to check 4,600 rich people’s wealth. Another 370 people, with impressive wealth that could not be verified last year due to procedures, are to be checked up. More than 180 specialists throughout the country will take part to the actions.
In 2014, ANAF had verified 30 people with wealth amounting to more than EUR 25 million, eleven of them not being able to account for their incomes.
According to ANAF, ever since verifications have stepped up on important wealth, the collecting degree by the state has increased significantly.
