“In February 2015 our country has been repaid funds of over EUR 460 million, and in the first days of March we have been repaid other funds worth about EUR 104 million,” said Minister for European Funds, Eugen Teodorovici.
According to official data, between January 1 to March 4, 2015, the highest amount was repaid on Sectoral Operational Programme (POS) Transportation (about EUR 299 million), followed by the Sectoral Operational Programme for Human Resources Development (POSDRU) EUR 158 million, Regional Operation Programme (ROP) – about EUR 80 million, Operational Programme for Technical Assistance (EUR 17 million) and Operational Programme Environment (SOP) about EUR 12 million.
“At the end of this year, Romania will reach an absorption rate of about 80% due to the measures that we began implementing since 2013 and that will continue this year. I remind you, this year is extremely important because it is the last one in which we can spend the funds allocated by the EU for the programming period 2007-2013,” said Minister Teodorovici.
According to MFE, at present, the current absorption rate of European funds exceeded 52%.
