A 15-year-old boy from Salaj county has died of flu, the National Center for Disease Surveillance has announced on Thursday. This the second death case in just two days.
The B type flu virus has been confirmed on the boy, who hadn’t been vaccinated against flu, but he hadn’t either any known pre-existing medical problems.
The first death case confirmed with this type of influenza virus in the 2017-2018 season was reported on a 60-year-old woman from Bucharest, who hadn’t been vaccinated butwas suffering of other medical affections.
80 flu cases have reported nationwide during January 8-14, 2018, which is yet low as against the same period last year when there had been 360 cases.
The total number of respiratory infections mounted to 74,953 across Romania, by 26.2% less than last year.
