Ford has produced the engine number 400,000 at the factory in Craiova, Romania, from the moment of production start in May 2012, capital.ro informs.
Engine number 400,000 is a 1-liter EcoBoost engine with 125 hp that was shipped to the Ford factory in Saarlouis (Germany) to equip a Focus Titanium Deep Impact Blue, the 5-door model.
Ford started production of engines at its world class plant in Craiova in May 2012 with the acclaimed EcoBoost 1 litre engine, followed in April 2013 by the 1.5-liter EcoBoost engine. Currently, the Ford factory in Craiova produces approximately 700 engines per day.
The engines manufactured in Craiova Ford are delivered to the vehicle plants in Germany, Spain, Turkey, Taiwan and Thailand.
Currently the engine plant in Craiova has about 800 employees working in two and three shifts to meet the market demand for Ford EcoBoost engines.
