German-Romanian Chamber of Commerce (AHK), along with three German-owned retailers operating on domestic market, launches Scoala de carte si meserii, the dual education project in retail sector in five cities – Timisoara, Sibiu, Brasov Bucharest and Buftea, a press release informs.
In each of these cities, the companies will form a class, meaning a total of 120 young people involved in the project.
After graduation, the pupils will have the opportunity to be employed in the companies where they have made the internship and continue their career in the retail, because after graduating from a dual system they can continue their studies, take the baccalaureate exam and even enroll in a college if they wish so.
During the schooling period, the pupils benefit from a scholarship of RON 400 (200 RON from the state, 200 RON from the company), transportation and lunch expenses being covered by the company.
A similar project was launched in 2015 by Austrian Embassy in Bucharest – Commercial Section, along with Billa, C&A, Deichmann, Kika, Hervis Sports, Humanic and DM Drogerie Markt. It’s about Austrian Commercial School in Romania (Scoala Comerciala Austriaca din Romania – o’SCAR).
