German shoe and sportswear retail chain Deichmann launched its online store in Romania. The company currently has 75 stores on the local market, and last year recorded sales of RON 28.5 million (EUR 74 million), up by 12 percent compared to 2014.
According to deichmann.com/RO/, the delivering orders is free whatever the order value and is made by FAN Courier within 48 hours of their delivery by courier. The return is also free in network stores.
Deichmann has entered the domestic market in 2007 and became the market leader, ahead Leonardo local player, which went bankrupt in the meantime. The retailer has 612 employees in Romania.
The other competitors on the Romanian markets are Otter Distribution – which sells Otter and Geox shoes, Benvenuti – owned by Romanian businessman Dan Pavel, local producer Musette – owned by Romanian entrepreneur Cristina Batlan and Austrian footwear retailer HUMANIC.
Last year, Deichmann opened five new stores, and this year has planned seven openings.
Worldwide, the turnover of German group, founded in 1913 and present in 23 European countries and the US, have increased by 8.3 percent to EUR 5.3 billion.
