Romanian soldiers have won two gold medals, one silver and one bronze in archery, at the Invictus Games in Sydney. They had numerous supporters, including Romania’s Ambassador to Australia, the Consul General, and Deputy Prime Minister Ana Birtchall. The Romanian archers were openly applauded.
In the final of the composite bow, Romania won against Australia: Ionuţ Butoi, Augustin Pegulescu and Dorin Petruţ have won the gold at this edition of Invictus Games. Dorin Petrut also has a bronze medal at the individual, where he defeated the representative of Australia.
In the Olympic bow, Eugen Patru fought for gold in the individual event and won in front of the Italian representative. Patru says he has taken his revenge against last year. Also at the Olympic bow, the Romanian team, consisting of Eugen Pătru, Cătălin Pârvu and Dănuţ Nicola, has won the silver medal.
All of our militaries participating in the Invictus Games were injured on the battle front. So far, the Romanian team has won five medals.
