PM Sorin Grindeanu has met a delegation of the Holocaust Memorial Museum from the U.S., accompanied by the American ambassador in Bucharest Hans Klemm, to discuss about setting up a Jewish History Museum in Romania. PM Grindeanu was invited to become honorary member of the future museum’s board.
According to the Government’s press bureau, the officials discussed on setting up the museum as an action of enhancing the education on the Holocaust history. The Gov’t will host the first international meeting of the Consultative Council to found the museum on March 17.
“The Romanian Government and other Romanian institutions endorse the project. We want this project to become reality as soon as possible and we’ll closely collaborate with the Federation of the Jewish Communities in Romania,” the prime minister stated.
