The coldest night this winter so far was the one of Monday to Tuesday, with temperatures dropping to -22 degrees Celsius in Targu Lapus (north-western Romania).
The Maramures County Emergency Situations Committee informs that early on Tuesday the temperatures were very low, of -22C in Targu Lapus, -15C in Baia Mare, -13C in Sighetu Marmatiei, Ocna Sugatag, -12C in Viseu de Sus and Borsa. The temperature felt in Targu Lapus was of -29C.
Three persons were taken to the County Hospitals for problems caused by frost.
The snow layer in the region is of up to 64 cm at Baraj Firiza in Gutai Mountains.
