Microsoft Romania has announced on Thursday that the general manager Gabriela Matei will leave the company.
Gabriela Matei has taken over the position in July 2016, after she had joined Microsoft six years ago as Cloud Director, while becoming Commercial Manager for SMEs in 2014.
Microsoft mentioned it would announce Gabriela Matei’s successor at the moment of the appointment.
Two years ago, Matei had replaced Kostas Loukas, who will take over as general manager for the Public Sector in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE).
“I am honoured by this opportunity. At Microsoft, we are privileged not only to witness the digital transformation, but to be an important driver of it, together with our partners and with our customers. Personally, I have seen in recent years extraordinary examples of small or medium sized companies which were driven by technology to another level and I sincerely believe that the business environment is the main engine for the development of a country. The new role will give me new opportunities to help accelerate Microsoft’s strategy in Romania and I believe in the impact that technology can have in increasing the competitiveness of the Romanian business environment,” Gabriela Matei used to say back then.
