“Corruption Kills” NGO has announced on Facebook a new protest to be staged in Victoriei Square in Bucharest this evening, starting 7 p.m. The protest comes after the Senate has adopted amendments to the Criminal Code, with controversial provisions aiming for lighter sentences for the offense of abuse of office.
The protest is entitled „We stop the criminals’ code! Stop, criminals”.
“They voted the Criminal Code at the Senate. They voted for Dragnea and other offenders to be saved! The vote in the Chamber of Deputies is next. If you also think Romania deserve more than a country where thieves can steal freely, if you also want a country where everyone should be held responsible for his deeds, let’s stop them! They stole everything from us! Do we let them steal our life, too?”, reads the organizers message.
The Criminal Code has been amended in the Senate’s extraordinary session. The bill will be debated in the Chamber of Deputies, most probably on Thursday.
