Bucharest Airports National Company registered, in the first six months of 2017, a record number of 5.92 million passengers and 61,800 aircraft movements (landings and take-offs) on the two airports of the Capital – Bucharest Henri Coanda International airport and Bucharest-Baneasa Aurel Vlaicu International Airport, a press release informs.
Out of the total, 5.92 million passengers and 55,700 aircraft movements were recorded on Henri Coanda Airport.
“As compared to H1 of 2016, the number of passengers who transited Bucharest airports in the first six months of this year recorded a relevant increase of 20.5 percent, thus creating the premise of exceeding the threshold of 12 million passengers throughout 2017. The evolution of the passengers’ number on the two airports exceeds the general European trend. Furthermore, the number of aircraft movements increased on Bucharest airports, going beyond the European trend once more. Thereby, the number of aircraft movements on Bucharest airports increased by almost 9.3 percent this H1 as compared to the same period of 2016,” the release reads.
41 airlines are currently operating on Bucharest Henri Coanda International Airport, carrying passengers to 152 destinations.
