The players of the Northampton Saints rugby team, who should have played against Timisoara Saracens in the European Rugby Challenge Cup, have reasons to remember the trip to Romania, although the match was cancelled.
The English players had to lend a hand in order to remove the snow at Traian Vuia Airport in Timisoara, so that their plane could take off, digisport.ro informs.
Joy Neville, the first woman referee in a men’s rugby match, has posted the information on Twitter.
“A trip I’ll never forget, when stuck, muck in…6 hours later sat on a plane to be asked to help clear the snow and try departing again @SaintsRugby in action lacking shovels but still giving it well,” she wrote on Twitter.
She has criticized the organisers for being unable to remove the snow from the Dan Paltinisanu Stadium, so the pitch was not proper for playing rugby.
