PMP Deputy resigns as press reveals he served prison sentence 20 years ago

People’s Movement Party (PMP) Deputy Doru Coliu has announced that he resigns from all the positions he holds in the party after the press has revealed that he was hiding the fact that he had served a prison sentence in his youth.

The MP says he is “ashamed and emotionally ruined” that twenty years ago he had been involved in a regrettable situation and was convicted for complicity to fraudulency.

He says he served the sentence in prison where, due to inhuman treatments and physical ‘corrections’, he was “very close to the end”, claiming that he has always believed that he had paid for this mistake of youth and “I am just a man who has been wrong in a critical stage of his life, but now the past has reached me and I am again at the moment of truth,” Doru Coliu wrote on Facebook.

Doru Coliu has posted an open letter Thursday night on Facebook, saying that it is difficult for him to recall the years he wanted to forget, for him and his family, and confesses that twenty years ago he was sentenced for complicity to fraudulency.
