PNL Chairman Ludovic Orban will meet with Christian Democrat Union (CDU) chairwoman, German Chancellor Angela Merkel on Monday, according to a press release issued by PNL on Sunday.
“On Monday, May 14, the PNL Chairman will have a meeting with the chairwoman of the Christian Democratic Union (CDU), Chancellor Angela Merkel, as of at 13.00h. On Tuesday, May 15, the PNL Chairman will meet, at 14.30h, with the President of Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung foundation, Norbert Lammert, former Bundestag Speaker, and with deputy Secretary General Gerhard Wahlers, Director of the European and International Cooperation Department of the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung. The PNL delegation will also meet with representatives of the German business environment, with representatives of the federal government on energy issues and with the CDU/CSU parliamentary group with the Bundestag, but also with the Romanians in Diaspora,” the PNL representatives announced in a press release.
According to the quoted source, the visit is “the result of the very good cooperation that PNL has with the Christian-Democratic Union in Germany, within the European People’s Party, the visit of the PNL delegation being carried out upon the invitation of the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung Foundation”.
The PNL delegation in Germany during May 13-16 includes party Secretary General Robert Sighiartău, EPP spokesman Siegfried Mureşan, PNL vice-chairmen Vlad Nistor and Cristian Buşoi, PNL MEP Daniel Buda.
PNL Chairman, Ludovic Orban, said on May 10 that he will pay a visit to Germany, where he will meet Chancellor Angela Merkel, but it had not been established whether there will be a joint press statement or whether only the liberal leader will hold a press conference.
The PNL leader also said that in June he will travel to France and Spain.
