National Liberal Party (PNL) chair Raluca Turcan said on Thursday that the party has decided to submit a censure motion against the Government on the two ordinances concerning pardon and amendments of the Criminal Code ‘in second two’ the government will adopt them.
“PNL decided today to submit a censure motion against the Government on the two ordinances on pardon and amending the Criminal Code. We will do it in second two if the Government will issue those ordinances,” Turcan said at the Parliament Palace.
She said that the PNL decision is based on the fact that the two ordinances are not part of the governing programme for which PSD took office.
“During the election campaign nothing was said about the pardon and about amending the Criminal Code. During the ministers’ hearings (by parliamentary committees – our note), in presenting the governing programme, pardon and amending the Criminal Code were not discussed. These are two approaches focused on meeting the approaches of a PSD clientele group to whiten PSD chair Liviu Dragnea,” the liberal leader added.
Raluca Turcan said that the purpose of the motion is to draw public attention that the current government “is skidding from governing programme.”
“The government’s initiative to tackle before the state budget the ordinances on pardon and on amending the Criminal Code for its political clientele shows that, in fact, the government is not concerned about the very real problems as stated during the campaign, but in the interests of those of a decision making group. (…) When we take note that the parliamentary majority and the government’s priority is to save the thieves from jail, we will file the censure motion. In second two. We will not have the slightest restraint not to fight with all the parliamentary means against the abuse against the honest people of this country,” Raluca Turcan said.
She also said that the two ordinances represent “defiance for the entire nation.”
On the other hand, Turcan said that it is reported that “one third of PSD lawmakers are worried about the skidding for the protection of PSD’s corrupt individuals.”
“Mr. Liviu Dragnea has a problem in his own party because more and more people understand that Mr. Dragnea’s concern is for himself and for the very few influential persons around him,” Raluca Turcan said.
The PNL chair said PNL would support the simple motion on justice that USR will file and the Liberals have discussed to the representatives of this party to support the motion.
