National Liberal Party (PNL) chairman Ludovic Orban argues that the speech of PSD leader Liviu Dragnea was the ‘delirium of an insane dictator’, who is capable of condemning Romania to ‘its darkest period’.
“I followed profoundly concerned the delirium of an insane dictator, capable to condemn Romania to its darkest period. This individual has launched attacks against all institutions which are not under his political control, through a cry of despair seemingly coming from the totalitarian regime’s caverns, the most aggressive and infamous antidemocratic and anti-European speech since Romania’s accession to the EU,” Orban said.
The PNL chair claims Dragnea has lost all contacts with reality and identified Romania with his party.
“The way this character believes can place the entire Romanian state as he pleases is stupefying. For those who had doubts, Liviu Dragnea has given proof of the toughest anti-European position in an autocratic speech, whereby he actually declared war to all Romanian partners in the European Union and NATO,” the PNL leader said.
Orban said “Dragnea is number one public enemy for every Romanian wishing to live in a civilized country, based on observing the law and just reward for his work.”
Referring to Dragnea’s attack against President Klaus Iohannis, Orban says it is “without reason and arguments”, a dreadful signal to all those looking at Romania.
“The success of this initiative, as the one proposed by Dragnea against the head of state, is an illusion, but it is a despicable message addressed to all Romanians having the courage to oppose Dragnea’s project to dominate. I appeal to all those in the PSD-ALDE coalition, to distance themselves from Liviu Dragnea as soon as possible. Taking distance from this character with darkened reason is in the interest of those who are leaders of PSD and ALDE,” the PNL leader said.
Ludovic Orban has appealed to the PSD and ALDE MPs to understand that Dragnea’s speech is the strongest argument to vote the censure motion in Parliament.
The PSD National Council took place on Sunday in Bucharest. Party chairman Liviu Dragnea delivered a huge one-hour-and-a-half speech. Dragnea said that there have been voices at the PSD National Council who requested an emergency ordinance on amnesty and pardon that should be adopted by mid-January, arguing it would be “an amnesty” on Centennial.
At the same time, one of the PSD chairman’s orders to the party was to file a criminal complaint against President Klaus Iohannis for high treason.
