The Chamber of Deputies adopted the draft law on the Administrative Code, as the decision-making body, with 175 votes in favour, 33 against and 15 abstentions.

Among the provisions of the draft bill are the elimination of the 20% threshold for the use of the mother tongue of national minorities in prefectures, town halls, county and local councils, and how the bilingual plates will be placed.

Another change in the draft adopted by MPs allows local elected representatives to be authorized persons or “persons operating an individual enterprise or family enterprise”.

Another provision adopted by the Senate is the one concerning the special pensions of local elected representatives which, on termination of their term of office, will be covered by the state budget.
