After Brexit, Romania will bid to host the HQ of the European Medicines Agency, currently in London

Romania will submit an application to host the headquarters of the European Medicines Agency, currently in London, after the Brexit, the Minister Delegate for European Affairs Ana Birchall said on Wednesday at Victoria Palace.
Birchall said that, 10 years after joining the European Union, Romania does not host any establishment of a European agency. Birchall admitted that more than 20 candidacies have already been submitted and there is a ‘fierce competition’ for the European Agency’s office, however Romania “will try to forge alliances in the coming period” to win this competition.
“We have to look at the reality, competition is very high, but I am convinced that Romania deserves to host a European agency,” Birchall said.
Asked by the journalists what city in Romania could host the headquarters, the Minister Delegate answered “probably Bucharest”.
