Anca Alexandrescu, officially released from the office of honorary adviser to the Prime Minister

Anca Nicoleta Alexandrescu was released from the office of honorary adviser to the Prime Minister, according to a decision published on Thursday by the ‘Official Gazette’.

PM Viorica Dăncilă, announced on Tuesday the replacing of Liviu Dragnea’s people, among them being Anca Alexandrescu, hotnews.ro reports.

Daughter of the well-known journalist Horia Alexandrescu (declared admirer of Ion Iliescu), she became adviser on press communication in 2000 to Adrian Năstase’s Government and was known among reporters as the prime minister’s censor. Alexandrescu managed to effectively block and control journalists’ access to information on the work of the Prime Minister and of the ministers.

During 2000-2004, Anca Alexandrescu was communication adviser to Prime Minister Adrian Năstase. After the exit of Adrian Năstase from the political scene, Anca Alexadrescu entered Bucharest Mayor Sorin Oprescu‘s team in 2004. In 2012, Prime Minister Victor Ponta brings her to the Government as remunerated state adviser. In 2016 she was appointed director of the public relations department with KMG Rompetrol. After Victor Ponta’s departure from PSD, Liviu Dragnea brings her to the party and to deal with the PSD communication department; she becomes unofficially Liviu Dragnea’s head of cabinet at the Chamber of Deputies. In February 2018, she is recommended and included by Liviu Dragnea in the new Prime Minister Viorica Dăncilă’s team.
