AtlasIntel Poll: Călin Georgescu Nears 40% in Presidential Race
If the presidential elections were held next Sunday, independent candidate Călin Georgescu would get 38.4%, followed by Nicușor Dan with 25.4% and Crin Antonescu with 15.8%, according to a poll conducted by AtlasIntel at the behest of Nicușor Dan, who published it on his personal Facebook page on Tuesday.
The poll was conducted on 2,947 respondents through random digital recruitment between February 21 and February 24. It has a confidence level of 95% and a margin of error of 2%. Călin Georgescu is increasing compared to a poll conducted by CURS at the end of January. At that time, he was rated at 37%. Nicușor Dan is also increasing, from 21% to 25.4%, while Antonescu is decreasing from 18% to 15.8%.
Unlike the CURS poll, Victor Ponta is also measured (7.5%). He has not officially announced that he will run, but said that signatures are being collected for a candidacy with his consent. In contrast, Diana Șoșoacă was not included in the AtlasIntel poll.
In the CURS poll, she was rated at 7%. Elena Lasconi, who at the end of last year reached the second round with Călin Georgescu, would be voted for by only 5.8% of respondents. George Simion, who has repeatedly stated that he will not run in the presidential elections where he supports Călin Georgescu, is also included in this poll.![]()
