Prime Minister Sorin Grindeanu has announced on Tuesday, at the end of the meeting with Health Minister Florian Bodog, Interior Minister Carmen Dan and Secretary of State Raed Arafat, that the solution envisaged for purchasing ambulances is that the auction will be conducted by the General Secretariat of the Government (SGG), based on a protocol signed between the SGG, IGSU-Interior Ministry and the Health Ministry, hotnews.ro informs.

The Premier stressed that the main issue is that new ambulances are required, as the car park is obsolete and has to be replaced.

“I am interested to solve this problem and, beyond this syncope not faced until now, only during the term of other governments, I found openness from my colleagues to solve this problem. I agreed with everyone to work together to solve the problem. Everyone has agreed to work together to unblock the situation so that the time for organising the auctions for ambulances is as short as possible.”

PM Grindeanu added that the solution lies with organising a single auction, coordinated by the SGG, based on a protocol signed by the SGG, the Interior Ministry – by IGSU and the Health Ministry, so that the situation is unblocked as soon as possible.

The head of the government said he would go to the Finance Ministry to discuss the issue of finding the funding to purchase ambulances.

Health Minister Florian Bodog and Secretary of State Raed Arafat have recently had disputes following Bodog’s announcement that the auction started by IGSU for the framework agreement to purchase ambulances is no longer in force and that a new protocol is needed between the Health Ministry and the Interior Ministry, so that the procedure should be relaunched. Secretary of State Raed Arafat contradicted him, claiming that delays will be very time consuming if the commenced auction is given up.
