The British Embassy in Bucharest has issued a congratulatory message to the Romanian people, after Sunday’s election results. In a press release, the Embassy says these days are “an exceptional moment for Romanian democracy”:
“The position of the British Embassy on recent developments in Romania. An exceptional moment for Romanian democracy.
Three decades after the fall of communism, Romania has demonstrated these days, by massive vote and by a key decision of justice, that its institutions are functioning, and the civic spirit is stronger than ever.
