Călin Georgescu threatens CCR judges with “many years in prison”

Former independent presidential candidate Călin Georgescu threatened the Constitutional Court judges with “heavy prison sentences” after the decision to annul the presidential elections and asks them to “repair their mistake”.

“Ladies and gentlemen, judges of the CCR, have you broken your oath? By what you decided on December 6, did you not swear perjury? Do you want God to help you – as the oath of magistrates says!? Then repair your mistake so that people can trust the right judgment of the institutions again, otherwise you will not find refuge even in hell! I draw your attention to the fact that you risk paying for the annulled votes with hard years in prison – and do not forget that no one is above the law, not even you, especially you, those who should have protected the law, not condemned it unjustly!“, wrote Călin Georgescu in a message on Facebook.

He calls on the CCR judges to reconsider the “wrong” decision and “immediately repair the injustice created for this people”. “God is only one, do not consider yourselves His equals!”, he says, at the end of the message.

The Coalition for the Defense of the Rule of Law and Călin Georgescu have initiated a court action against the BEC and several state institutions to annul the presidential elections. The High Court of Cassation and Justice sent the case to the Bucharest Court of Appeal on Monday. “Declines the jurisdiction to resolve the request for summons, as amended, specified and completed by the plaintiffs Coalition for the Defense of the Rule of Law and Georgescu Călin, in contradiction with the defendants Central Electoral Bureau, Ministry of National Defense, Defense Staff and Chief of Defense Staff, Government of Romania through the Prime Minister, represented by the General Secretariat of the Government, Prosecutor’s Office attached to the High Court of Cassation and Justice, Constitutional Court of Romania, Romanian Intelligence Service, President of Romania, Klaus Iohannis represented by the Presidential Administration and Lasconi Elena – Valerica, regarding the annulment of Decisions of the Central Electoral Bureau no. 230D of 06.12.2024, no. 231D of 07.12.2024 and no. 232D of 07.12.2024 and obliging the Government of Romania to issue a new Government decision, in favor of the Bucharest Court of Appeal – Administrative and Fiscal Litigation Section”, the judges’ decision also states.
