Calin Georgescu’s Austrian financier revealed
Călin Georgescu’s current mentor, financier and supporter is Austrian businessman Roland Schatz, an outspoken critic of Donald Trump and who supported Kamala Harris in the 2020 election campaign, revealed American investigative journalist Frank Parlato, in an analysis of the Romanian presidential elections published in Artvoice.
“The damage caused to American politics by Trump is much greater than that caused during the George W. Bush administration,” Schatz said, quoted by the American journalist. Also, in a post published on LinkedIn, the Austrian entrepreneur described Trump as “a guy fired from his job 4 years ago, with the lowest trust rate since Jimmy Carter.”
The reference to Schatz, as Georgescu’s main mentor and financier, comes in the context of recent statements made by US Vice President JD Vance, regarding the annulment of the Romanian elections. US Vice President JD Vance said on February 14, in Munich, that the annulment of the Romanian presidential elections was based on “shaky suspicions” by intelligence services and that this decision is a sign that Europe has “bigger internal problems” than “the threat of Russia or China.”
A few days later, the same JD Vance launched a new attack on Romania, suggesting that our country does not have the same values as the United States, after “it canceled the presidential elections because it did not like the result.”
According to Frank Parlato, Romanian intelligence services, with the support of the European Commission and NATO countries UK, Canada, Estonia, as well as Ukraine, used a software (Osavul) based on Artificial Intelligence to analyze how Georgescu’s electoral campaign was conducted.
The Osavul software identified that 85% of Georgescu’s online campaign content was generated by fake profiles, bots and AI-generated clips, which manipulated social media algorithms in order to amplify pro-Georgescu messages.
The analysis of these operations led to Russian email domains, such as rambler.ru, according to the American publication’s article about the electoral campaign in Romania. Artvoice mentions that Georgescu was part of the United Nations Global Sustainable Index Institute (UNGSII), an organization whose CEO is Roland Schatz.
Călin Georgescu was a director at UNGSII from July 9 to December 14, 2016. Artvoice notes that Georgescu wrote in his CV that he was a “director and special advisor” at the UN, even though UNGSII has no connection to the United Nations.
After the annulment of the presidential elections in Romania, Roland Schatz published an article in the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, a publication part of Tenor Media (owned by the same Schatz), in which he categorized Georgescu as “a victim” and not a person supported by the Kremlin.
