Cătălin Predoiu, to take over interim leadership of PNL Bucharest organization

National Liberal Party first vice-president Cătălin Predoiu will take over the interim leadership of the Bucharest party branch, political sources told local news agencies. He had a meeting with the Liberal Party’s co-presidents on Monday, and they convinced him to accept the takeover, in the view of forwarding the merger process of the party.

The leadership of the Bucharest Liberal organization is currently provided by Anca Boagiu (former Democrat Liberal Party) and Teodor Athanasiu (old National Liberal Party).

Liberals have decided not long ago to merge some leadership positions in the party to have a more united image in the view of the 2016 local and parliamentary elections.

For instance, they also decided that the party secretary general position should be united under the leadership of Ilie Bolojan.

Co-president Vasile Blaga informed that PNL National Council due on December 11 will nail down Predoiu’s new position, while also announcing the Liberal candidate for the Bucharest mayor position.
