CURS poll: Ciolacu and Ciucă, in the run-offs of the presidential elections

The PSD and PNL candidates, Marcel Ciolacu and Nicolae Ciucă, respectively, might face each other in the presidential election run-offs, according to the results of a CURS poll, carried out between August 6-22, 2024.
PSD candidate Marcel Ciolacu is in first place in the electorate’s preferences for the presidential elections, with 32%, followed by Nicolae Ciucă (PNL) – 19%.
Mircea Geoană (independent) – 15%, George Simion (AUR) – 14%, Elena Lasconi (Alianța Dreapta Unită) – 11%, Diana Șoșoacă (SOS Romania) – 5%, another (under 1% each ) – 4%.
Regarding the options for the December 1 parliamentary elections, the first two parties have more percentages than their presidential candidates: PSD – 34% and PNL – 24%. AUR – 14%, Alianța Dreapta Unită/the United Right Alliance (USR, PMP, Forta Dreptei) – 12%, SOS Romania – 5% and UDMR – 5% are also above the electoral threshold.
