Călin Georgescu remains the favorite of Romanians for the presidential elections, while Nicușor Dan would enter the second round even in a scenario in which the finalist from December would not run, according to a CURS poll.
The CURS poll was conducted between January 21 and 25, 2025, on 1,100 respondents, the method being telephone interviews. The maximum error is +/- 3%, at a confidence level of 95%.
Iosif Buble, owner of CURS polling institute, stated that the poll was not commissioned by any political party. It is not commissioned by anyone. It is Omnibus type. CURS conducts monthly research that we publish. One month nationally, one month Bucharest. It is the institute’s self-financed monthly research. Those commissioned by an entity we hand over to the one who commissioned it and they make it public”, Iosif Buble told HotNews.ro.
According to the CURS poll, if presidential elections were held next Sunday, Călin Georgescu would obtain 37% of the votes in the first round.

The independent candidate supported by AUR is followed by the general mayor of the capital, Nicușor Dan, with 21%, while Crin Antonescu, the candidate proposed by the governing coalition, ranks third with 18%.
The finalist in the presidential elections in December, the president of the USR, Elena Lasconi, is rated with 7%, while Diana Șoșoacă, the leader of SOS Romania, who was banned from running, has 4%. 13% of respondents indicated another candidate.

Compared to the Avangarde poll, Călin Georgescu remains the favorite to enter the first round with almost the same percentage (38%), while Crin Antonescu reached the final with 25%, Nicușor Dan being ranked 3rd with 17%.
