The incumbent president Klaus Iohannis ranks first in the Romanians’ preferences for a second presidential term, reads the latest opinion poll conducted by CURS during March 12-15 and commissioned by Omnibus.
74 per cent of the respondents have a clear vote option for the presidential elections due in November this year, 8 per cent more than in January.
The poll reads that Klaus Iohannis is ranking first and that he would get 36% of the votes in the first round.
ALDE chairman, also Senate Speaker, Calin Popescu ranks second, with 23 per cent.
PSD chair Liviu Dragnea (Chamber of Deputies speaker) comes third, with 15 per cent.
Former PM Dacian Ciolos, PLUS leader, would get 9 per cent, while European Commissioner Corina Cretu would receive 6 per cent.
