Dacian Cioloş, after the meeting with PNL: I will not join the party
Following a meeting with Liberal MPs, Prime Minister Dacian Ciolos did not deny that in the discussions with the Liberals, he was proposed to join the party. He said, however, that he will keep his promise made in November to lead the government as technocrat until after the parliamentary elections, digi24.ro informs.
“I have responded to this invitation and we reviewed the PNL discontent to specific projects and actions of the Government. I explained the decisions already taken. We also discussed our goals, the projects we have and we asked for parliamentary support,” Ciolos said.
Asked if he was invited to join the Liberal Party, as reported by sources within the party, the Prime Minister’s answer was nervous.
“I said that I assumed the prime minister’s office, I made a clear commitment: until the end of this government’s term I would not join any party, I would not build up a party and I will not run for parliamentary elections. I would like this is the last time I say this. I do not know what will happen after the end of the government’s term,” Dacian Ciolos said.
