Defence Minister Adrian Tutuianu to resign from the office of Senate Secretary

Defence Minister Adrian Tutuianu said on Tuesday that has asked the National Integrity Agency (ANI) for a viewpoint in regard to his presence in the Senate leadership during the parliamentary recess and has received the answer that he has not been in incompatibility. However, Tutuianu said he would resign as Senate’s Secretary in early September.

Last week, Save Romania Union (USR) notified ANI about the alleged incompatibility for Adrian Tutuianu, minister with the Mihai Tudose cabinet and concomitantly Secretary with the Senate’s Standing Bureau, realitatea.net informs.

In order to summon the parliamentary extraordinary session on August 8, Adrian Tutuianu attended and voted as member of the Senate’s Standing Bureau, although law no. 161/2003 reads that the position of government member is incompatible with any other public office of authority, except with the one of deputy or senator, the same source informs.
