Monday evening, PSD leader, Liviu Dragnea, said that the procedure to suspend the President “is not excluded” because the head of state “has too long delayed” the decision to revoke DNA chief prosecutor, Laura Codruta Kovesi.
In retort, Tuesday morning, President Klaus Iohannis said he is not very interested in the opinion of the PSD leader. “Honestly, I am not very interested in his opinion,” Iohannis said.
The President has avoided an answer on this topic, saying that “today he wants to speak more about bicycles than anything else. Last week has ended well, thank you.”
The statements were made while the head of state attended, on a bike, part of the march “let’s pedal for Romania” with 250 cyclers leaving from Bucharest, Iasi, Timisoara and Drobeta Turnu Severin to join forces in Alba Iulia.
PSD leader, Liviu Dragnea, said on Monday that he does not exclude opening the procedure to suspend President Klaus Iohannis, adding that he has too long delayed the decision on revoking DNA chief prosecutor.
“The suspension is not excluded. He has too long delayed, it’s unconstitutional. This game ‘let’s read it’ is a mockery to the Constitutional Court,” Dragnea said. He added that he is not going to send the President a deadline, but said the head of state has too long delayed a decision.
