The National Integrity Agency (ANI) is going to check Elena Udrea’s wealth to see if there are any oversights between her wealth statement and her money and assets. Integrity inspectors took notice on this case in October last year, source within the Agency told Mediafax.

According to the wealth statement that Udrea filed as a presidential candidate in September last year, she got six 13,000–square-meter lands in Bucharest after she got divorced from Dorin Cocos. Udrea also bought 18 arable fields in Calarasi County, with a total area of 420,000 square meters. The former Tourism minister also passed in her wealth statement the fourth of a 635-square-meter house, acquired in 2013 after the divorce partition and a 169-square-meter house in Bucharest, also got in 2013 after the divorce from Cocos. Elena Udrea has got two cars following the divorce, a Fiat from 2012, and a Mercedes from 2005. She also mentioned in her wealth statement she had gold and silver jewelry worth EUR 100,000. PMP MP sold two houses for EUR 250,000 in 2014, but also a Porsche Cayenne fro EUR 5,000. She stated she had a RON 1 M bank account and another one of EUR 85,900 and that she lent over RON 3M to three private companies and almost EUR 500,000 to other two.

Elena Udrea is prosecuted in the Microsoft file for money laundering and false wealth statements, being also accused she acquired and used goods about which she knew they were coming by crimes. Her ex-husband, businessman Dorin Cocos is presently serving a pre-trial jail sentence in the same file.

Elena Udrea has been making shocking statements since she was prosecuted last week, mainly targeting the Romanian Intelligence Service interim director, Florian Coldea and former PSD MP Sebastian Ghita. No later than Monday, she reloaded the accusations during a new interview for Gandul daily. This time she said that Sebastian Ghita went to the former SRI Director, George Maior and former deputy director Florian Coldea and told them “he would shoot them” if they were doing to him what they did to former President Traian Basescu regarding his brother, Mircea (editor note-who used to be incarcerated as well in a corruption file). “Obviously it was a metaphoric statement that Sebastian Ghita would certainly deny,” Udrea commented. She also stated that “all country’s great statesmen are hiding under the tables.”

Questioned about Udrea’s statements, ex-president Basescu refused to comment them. “As you know, I haven’t had any public statements since December 21, 2014 and I haven’t change my decision for the moment. I am having a great time with my family,” Basescu said in an e-mail sent to Libertatea daily.
